My literature class is reading The Great Gatsby. We are defining various quotes from the book.
This is my quote; It is in chapter 9.
When the phone rang that afternoon and Long Distance said Chicago was calling, I thought this would be Daisy at last. But the connection came through and it was a man's voice, very thin and far away.
"This is Slagle speaking..."
"Yes?" The name was unfamiliar.
"Hell of a note, isn't it? Get my wire?"
"There haven't been any wires."
"Young Parke's in trouble," he said " They picked him up when he handed the bonds over the counter. They got a circular from New York giving em the numbers just five minutes before. What d'you know about that, hey? You never can tell in these hick towns..."
That is my quote. I need to know what the significance of that is to the story.

Is there any good, reliable way to look up ISBN numbers?
I'm looking up textbooks for school, and two books I am having problems finding. They were posted on my university's official site with the ISBN numbers, but when I enter the numbers they don't come up. One book (Child Development by Parke) does not come up in any search I do, or seems to be sold anywhere. The other book (Research Methods by McBurney) is requested in the 10th edition, but the newest edition I can find is the 8th. Any help? Thanks!

Flooring alternative for a bathroom?
I have Parke flooring in Living/dining/Master bedroom.I have a 30 X 12 master bathroom with a Washer and Dryer in it.I want to be able to do the floor myself.Have done tile before but don't think I can handle such a big job.Has anybody ever done cork flooring.Is it easy to take care of will it last forever or at least 20+ years.Will it look good next to Parke flooring.Or any alternative that won't cost an arm and a leg but will not kill my resale value on my house.|||With the proper care the cork will last a long time. I m concerned about a possible moisture problem in a master bath, especially with a washer in it too. I think a big tile project it just what you need ..Tile will help or at least won t hurt the resale a bit in a master bath also. The photo was the photo that the police took when they discovered her off-blue and patchy bloated red body in a messy apratment in Portsmouth. Illegal drugs kill - that's the arguement. There used to be a small thin lozenge,that was absolutly the best lozenge for a raspy voice....It was I believe called Parke-Davis, had a licorace taste, and I have not seen it for years....other than the spelling, I hope I gave you enought information...

Right...im a good fan of Ronan Parke! I saw him at the 02 on Thursday!
One thing is not right....i found the official ronan parke on facebook, just a like page, but he spoke to you on it! You knew it was him because there was some VERY personal photos that normal people would not be able to get!
However going onto it yesterday, it has all changed it was called 'RonanParkeFanPage' on the web address...but now it is 'RonanParkeMusic' all the personal photos have gone! All the wall posts have changed! Information has changed! Likes have changed!
If you look up 'Ronan Parke' on google, it comes up with 'Ronan Parke Facebook' and when you press the magnifying glass you can see his old page, with fan photos, picture of him, wall posts! When you click on it and log in, itdoesn'tt come up with anything!
I really want to get to the bottom of this! Because i want to be able to find him again! I never got to tell him how great he was after the 02! I think someone has taken over his account...i really want to know!

so about 3 weeks ago i went to page Parke's and interviewed with one of the i guess talent scouts. she told me i have potential but i need to take that camp that's around 1000. I've convinced my parents to let me do it if i pay part of the cost too but I've been reading around here and i found some stuff on google and now I'm thinking it might be better to go take some acting classes at a cheaper place and get some headshots and then submit them to page.713 agency and other houston agencies.
i just want to know if you think this is a good idea or if i should just go ahead and pay the 1000. and also if page.713 is a scam or do they really get you places. please help me thank you.

Well lucky for you I've been through this process already lol. I've taken the class (i assume you're talking about the TVP class) and yeah it is expensive but it gives you formal training to put on your resume and all agents will like that. The class really all inclusive, you get a whole binder full of useful information, a class on skin care (about 1hr), a class on imaging (about 30min.), a class on photoposing (about 2hrs), and what i think is the most important a 3hr acting class (which i learned ALOT from). Plus the next day you get a photoshoot and with that your headshots and a guaranteed AUDITION for the agency. so all of that for a grand is worth it. at least i think so.
Also, only do it if acting is your PASSION! Don't do it if you only want to be an actor to be rich and famous! Because if you pay the money for the class and all you want is millions in return, i can pretty much promise you that you won't get with the agency. I've seen people in my "free classes" (oh btw after you take the TVP class you get free acting and photoposing classes for as long as you want) that did the TVP class, auditioned for the agency and DID NOT get in. So be sure your heart is in it! And be serious b/c a grand is serious cash right?
Anyway, to sum it up take the class (if you truly want to be a pro actor) because it is definitely worth it. I did it and got with the agency and its NOT a scam...people are just cheap and expect a whole lot of something for a whole lot of nothing, ya know?

hi i live in Ohio i am looking to renting in clark county, new carlsile area, like parke layne or enon, medway,,,,,,,please help thanks|||If you can spend a couple days in that area, I would go driving around with notebooks and pencils/pens or a laptop.
My experience where I live ( not there) is you see more driving down the streets you want to live down/around then you do online. This is especially so for HOUSES because the home owners have as much clue how to list their house for rent as you do how to find houses for rent. ( Someone needs to make an easy named site that specializes in this).
You will also want to grab flyers from Houses for Sale because with the Economy as it is I've been running across Houses for Sale or Rent and it's listed on their flyer ( this is not in the newspaper,.. not that kind,.. but it's listed on sheets of paper from the realator's office or that's at the actual house).
